Short description: The challenge owner plans/builds/operates biomass heating plants up to 10 MW. To achieve an optimal coverage and movement of the combustion grate, a suitable method/sensor is sought that automatically informs/adjusts the control system based on the condition of the fuel on the combustion grate.
Market potential: The new technology could be adapted for other combustion grate technology in biomass heating plants as it would optimise combustion and increase energy efficiency.
Timing: Due to the booming renewable energy market – the sooner the better!
Desired result: Depending on the condition of the biomass fuel already on the combustion grate, the grate should automatically be set faster/slower in order to achieve optimal combustion results (low residual oxygen, complete fuel burn-out) at the end.
Information on challenge owner: Mid-size SME (50-259 staff).
Market presence of challenge owner: Active in several countries.
