Short description: The challenge owner plans, builds and operates biomass heating plants up to a size of 10 MW. Their fuel storages are equipped with a camera to check the fill level, which shall now also be used to determine the fuel condition (size of wood chips, bulk weight, …) to optimise the firing control.
Market potential: The new technology could be adapted for any biomass fuel storage solution.
Timing: Due to the booming renewable energy market – the sooner the better!
Desired result: Additionally, further sensors/solutions would be highly welcome to determine moisture/water content of the biomass fuel directly before it enters the furnace. The mail goal is to determine relevant fuel parameters and use them to optimise the firing control regarding energy efficiency.
Information on challenge owner: Mid-size SME (50-259 staff).
Market presence of challenge owner: Active in several countries.
