About the Solution: Teleoperation of Forklifts

URBAN TECH Challenge: Teleoperation of Forklifts

Challenge owner: Galvaswiss Oberflächentechnik GmbH (Germany)

Sector: Smart City

Funding received: up to 27000 EUR

Type: Software

Customer focus: B2B

Target Market: Global

The goal  of the solution is to have teleoperated forklifts in the operational use at the worksite of Galvaswiss (Challenge Owner). As a result, a forklift which was delivered to Galvaswiss in July 2023 is fitted with our teleoperation kit and adapted to the Galvaswiss use case. During a piloting phase the commissioning of the forklift on the Galvaswiss worksite is planned to transition into an operational use with a safety driver at first, followed by a long term use without a safety driver and the extension to our “Material Handling as a Service” Model. At Galvaswiss worksite the employees had the possibility to remote control our forklift in Karlsruhe, with valuable feedback.

The product gives margins for scalability, especially when used with our business model “Material Handling as a Service”.
